KWMU Special Election Coverage

KWMU will be airing special coverage of the upcoming Democratic and Republican National Conventions.

Democratic Convention Coverage

Democratic National Convention in Denver: August 25-28, 2008

National Public Radio will broadcast a nightly convention special hosted by Andrea Seabrook.  The program will air from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. each evening (Aug 25, 26, 27 and 28)

The backbone of each special will be the key speeches of the day and interviews with those making news at the convention.  Our broadcast will also feature analysis from NPR’s Ron Elving, Ken Rudin and Mara Liasson, as well as reports from NPR’s Don Gonyea, Robert Smith, Audie Cornish, Debbie Elliott, Linda Wertheimer and others.   

NPR Election call-in Special: August 28th, 2008

On Thursday, August 28th, Senator Barack Obama will officially become the Democratic Nominee for President.  Immediately following NPR’s special coverage of his acceptance speech, NPR will host a talk show call-in special and allow callers from around the country to express their views on the election and candidates.  The one hour talk-show special will begin at 10:00 p.m. (the start time may be later if the speech or our coverage runs long).  The program will be hosted by NPR’s Neal Conan.

Republican Convention Coverage

Republican National Convention in Minneapolis: September 2-4, 2008

National Public Radio will broadcast a nightly convention special hosted by Andrea Seabrook.  The program will air from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. each evening (Sept 2, Sept 3, Sept 4).

The backbone of each special will be the key speeches of the day and interviews with those making news at the convention.  Our broadcast will also feature analysis from NPR’s Ron Elving, Ken Rudin and Mara Liasson, as well as reports from NPR’s Scott Horsley, Ina Jaffe, David Welna, Linda Wertheimer and others.    

NPR Election call-in Special: September 4th, 2008

On Thursday, September 4th, Senator John McCain will officially become the Republican Nominee for President.  Immediately following NPR’s special coverage of his acceptance speech, NPR will host a talk show call-in special and allow callers from around the country to express their views on the election and candidates.  The one hour talk-show special will begin at 10:00 p.m. (the start time may be later if the speech or our coverage runs long).  The program will be hosted by NPR’s Neal Conan.
