St. Louis Public Radio (STLPR) is a dynamic and innovative media organization dedicated to covering news that matters to our region. Through our in-depth reporting, we illuminate, investigate, challenge and celebrate significant developments and issues. We connect with our community on air, online, through social media and in person.
Located in the UMSL at Grand Center state-of-the-art facility in the arts and entertainment district of Midtown St. Louis, STLPR recently merged with St. Louis Beacon, a not-for-profit digital news organization, and our team now includes sixty-four talented members.

STLPR and the University of Missouri - St. Louis seek a Guest Relations Specialist for a highly visible role in the front lobby of UMSL at Grand Center, the home of St. Louis Public Radio. This facility hosts guests from many walks of life: supporters, volunteers, Board members, talk show guests, officials and dignitaries, faculty, students and the public. In short, everyone is welcome at UMSL at Grand Center.

The ideal candidate for this newly defined role will possess the following characteristics:

  • the professional and welcoming demeanor of a person who thoroughly enjoys interacting with people;
  • initiative that recognizes and acts upon ways to improve building operations, especially with regard to enhancing guest experiences;
  • adaptability to respond to difficult or emergency situations in a quick and effective manner if they arise;
  • and excellent telephone, written correspondence and organizational skills.

Qualifications:

This position requires an Associateís degree, prefers a Bachelorís degree and two to five years of experience in a similar role or in the hospitality industry. Previous experience organizing events would be beneficial. The University of Missouri - St. Louis, offers an exceptional benefit package.
